I love the opening track by Paul Plastique so much. It reminds me a lot of Psyknights’ great music.

2 months since the last post, time for a new one.

Xerxes released another wonderful warm and relaxing ambient piece. one-oh-three weighs 45MB and you get 20 minutes of 320kbps (bloat!). If you like this one and don’t know “meditation”, well get it.

As you are all eagerly awaiting the release of this fifth album, Solar Fields and Ultimae decided to offer you a free track, special edit from Brainbow. A beautifully fresh, hypnotic and powerful excursion into upbeat soundscapes.

It’s sort of a ritual.. All the devices humming and me sitting on the floor.. A rack full of electronics and cables like a modern totem pole, just outside the circle of the keyboards. A dream maybe, a distant idea of something or just pure exploration, endless curiosity about the sound..

This is intriguing improvised Ambient music. For a start I would recommend Live at Konemetsä on 2007-07-08. Well, at least that’s how I started thanks to a post at Isratrance.

Imagine this:

-that konemetsä gig was played to an audience of about 100 people who were either sleeping, in half-sleep or otherwise in coma
-it has it’s reflections on the vibe of the music, last sunday 6 - 8-40 am.
-the place itself was awesome, there were four different stages… and in the early morning there was mist rising from the forest. to which the lights displayed
-the different stages were in the forest, except the chill out tent… natural auditoriums and very organic

Sorry about the long time without updates. I might go to a way less time-intense approach maybe, just posting links or something. We’ll see.
This site had its 4000th visitor yesterday, cute.

I won’t post about Goa/Psytrance stuff in the future, for this kind of music head over to Ektoplazm. Basilisk does a way better job on this than I could ever do. I will submit music from those genres to Ektoplazm instead of posting here (eg. the free SynSUN album, thanks grahf).

In other (very sad) news: The great online music store Fake Science will shut down. I bought several releases from there such as Hol Baumann’s gig at Sonic, some Ultimae e-releases and if I recall right also Cell’s performance at Glade. They were perfect. Those guys know how to do digital distribution. Check out their podcasts too. All the best, you will be missed!

The Ambient Collective’s releases are true gems under the many netlabels.
I fall asleep to Horizon the past two days.
A word of warning though: Do not follow too many links on archive.org, you will stumble into so much Ambient that your brain will melt.

I never knew about it but Oliver Lieb released an unreleased (well, no more) album of his LSG project. It is pretty much in the powerful relaxed mood of Disc 1 from The Singles Reworked. Wow! You can find the link on his myspace blog, read the text and keep in mind not to distribute the direct link.
